Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rodger Nash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andre King!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

King darts in and clinches Nash up against the cage.
Nash has had enough of the clinch but King keeps him there for the moment.
Nash using the Thai plumb to throw knees but King has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
King has Nash pressed against the cage.

King manages to break the clinch.

King moves into range and clinches up with Nash.

Nash ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Nash no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nash is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. King is aware though and is defending well.
King lands a couple of decent looking shots.

King is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Nash defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

King has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Nash enables King to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nash manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Andre King showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



King forces Nash back against the cage and clinches.

Nash gets control of King's arms and successfully pulls guard. Nash will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

King wants to stand but Nash is controlling his posture from full guard.
Nash will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
King wants to control from the top but Nash keeps moving.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

King stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nash swivels though and keeps the full guard.

King stands and steps away. Nash gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Andre King is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Andre King is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Andre King comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well King has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
