Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dream Panda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Irwin!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Panda closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Panda lands in his opponent's guard.
Panda won't allow Irwin to sweep him here.
Panda has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Irwin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Panda knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Irwin on the ground.
Panda is refusing to be controlled, as Irwin sits in half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Panda is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Irwin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Irwin prevents Panda from improving his position.
My spies in Crapollas Gym inform me that Irwin has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Panda is working hard here to advance position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Irwin throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Panda to regain full guard.
Irwin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Irwin passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Irwin wants to control but Panda is keeping him busy.

Irwin is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Panda is trying to escape and Irwin transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Panda is forced to tap! Nice work there by Irwin! Very nice indeed!
