PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cinder Smaug (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Redfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Redfield has chosen False Alarm as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 47 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cinder Smaug!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Redfield!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smaug connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Redfield momentarily.
A punch lands to the side of Redfield 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Redfield ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Redfield blocks a leg kick.

Smaug has managed to clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Redfield.
Redfield is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Smaug looking to stall.
Smaug swings wildly with an uppercut but Redfield uses good head movement to avoid it.

Redfield manages to break the clinch.
Smaug misses with an attempted mid kick.
Redfield checks the leg kick nicely there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Redfield lands with a cross.


It looks like Cinder Smaug has been cut.
Redfield connects with a right hand. Smaug shakes it off.
Redfield tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Smaug gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Smaug has Redfield pressed against the cage, preventing Redfield from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Smaug keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Redfield's efforts to push away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Redfield is trying to force a seperation but Smaug has the dominant position.

Redfield has picked Smaug up - he's going for a ride! Redfield dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Redfield thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Redfield wants to control but Smaug is keeping him busy.
Smaug regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Redfield.
Redfield stands up over Smaug, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Redfield throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Smaug works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Smaug on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Smaug tries to get out of the position.
Redfield controls from within his opponent's guard.
Redfield trying to control but Smaug is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Redfield throwing strikes but missing.
Smaug utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Redfield with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Redfield working some strikes from top position.
Redfield stays in close to Smaug's body and controls the position.
Smaug keeping moving, preventing Redfield from controlling successfully.

Smaug uses the cage to get back to his feet.
The fighters circle momentarily. Redfield darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Smaug buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Redfield cracks Smaug with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Redfield throws a wild body kick that Smaug sees coming a mile off.
Smaug feints and then cracks Redfield's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Redfield down.

Redfield connects with a stiff jab that staggers Smaug - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
