PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Renato Palma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Enok Jepsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jepsen cracks Palma with a good jab.
Palma looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jepsen is fending him off so far but Palma persists. Nope, Jepsen circles away and we're back to standing.
Jepsen appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Palma shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jepsen as he jumps to the side.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Palma.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renato Palma. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jepsen scores with a jab to the jaw.
Palma shoots and misses
and Jepsen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Palma shoots in for a double leg but Jepsen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Palma shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jepsen but Jepsen pushes him off and we're back to square one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

enabling Jepsen to counter with a crisp jab.
Jepsen has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
Horrible takedown attempt by Palma or perhaps it was just good defense by Jepsen, which made it look bad.
Palma shoots for a double leg takedown but Jepsen sprawls well. He's pushed Palma's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Palma changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jepsen tries to avoid it but Palma manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jepsen to the ground. Jepsen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jepsen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jepsen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Palma looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Palma takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Jepsen rushes Palma and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Palma is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Jepsen piles on the pressure and Palma crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Enok Jepsen!
A relieved looking Enok Jepsen thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
