Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Callum Pagnozzi (ranked 372 p4p, 17 weight class) and Matt Hunt (ranked 602 p4p, 18 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pagnozzi is looking to slow Hunt down with leg kicks.
Hunt throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
An inside leg kick lands from Pagnozzi.
Pagnozzi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hunt.
Hunt misses with a body shot.

Callum Pagnozzi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hunt displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pagnozzi throws out the jab.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Hunt swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Pagnozzi misses with the combination.
Pagnozzi is looking to chop away at Hunt's legs.
Pagnozzi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Pagnozzi tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hunt is able to avoid easily.

Hunt lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Pagnozzi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hunt manages to avoid it.
A little jabbing left from Hunt on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

and Hunt counters with a low kick, right behind Pagnozzi 's knee.

Pagnozzi lunges at Hunt with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hunt's hand.
Pagnozzi definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hunt is looking for the big counter here.
Pagnozzi throws a wild body kick that Hunt sees coming a mile off.
Nice takedown defense from Hunt. No joy for Pagnozzi on that attempt.
Pagnozzi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
It seemed like Hunt was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Pagnozzi scores with the left hand. Hunt knows he should have avoided that one.
Pagnozzi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pagnozzi scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hunt doesn't seem bothered though.
Some bone on bone action there as Pagnozzi checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Hunt moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Callum Pagnozzi dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hunt throws a head kick that half lands.
Hunt throws the kick towards the body but Pagnozzi avoids it.
Hunt feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Pagnozzi's calf.

Pagnozzi gets a double leg takedown into Hunt's guard.
Hunt keeping moving, preventing Pagnozzi from controlling successfully.
Pagnozzi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hunt is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pagnozzi looking to sit in guard and control but Hunt gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hunt sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pagnozzi's guard.

Pagnozzi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hunt's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hunt's back!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That has opened up Matt Hunt's cut even more.
Pagnozzi unloads with some shots from mount but Hunt bucks and avoids them well.
Hunt takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Matt Hunt's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Callum Pagnozzi!
Callum Pagnozzi was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
