Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gin Kobra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Wallace has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gin Kobra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace slips a jab and a cross from Kobra.
Wallace is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Kobra tries to clinch but Wallace moves out of range.
Wallace changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Wallace misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kobra throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Wallace dodges the punch combination from Kobra.
Kobra throws a hook but Wallace blocks it.
Kobra throws a right hand that Wallace ducks under and follows up with a left that Wallace also avoids with ease.
Wallace thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Kobra if he has to take too many more of those.
Kobra has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Wallace.
Wallace keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kobra misses with a double jab.
Wallace changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Kobra will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Wallace clinches up with Kobra and pushes him back against the cage.
Wallace working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Wallace using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Kobra has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Wallace manages to break the clinch.
Wallace misses with a few strikes there.
Wallace lands a head kick!
Kobra misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kobra takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Kobra misses with a two punch combination.
No joy there for Kobra, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kobra doesn't manage to clinch there - Wallace circles away.
Kobra slips a jab and a cross from Wallace.
Wallace paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kobra throws a right and a left that Wallace avoids nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kobra tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Wallace is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Wallace moves out of range of the body kick from Kobra.

Wallace clinches up against the cage.

Kobra escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sloppy strikes from Kobra. Those never looked like landing.
Kobra is breathing heavily.
Wallace showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kobra.
Kobra looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
A combination from Wallace does no damage.
Kobra darts in looking for a takedown but Wallace gets double underhooks and turns Kobra into the cage.

Wallace rushes Kobra and presses him up against the cage.
A knee to the head by Wallace.
A shot in the inside from Wallace.
Wallace landing knees to the head.
A short right from Wallace on the inside.
Wallace leaning against his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wallace lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Wallace is trying to trip Kobra. He has hold of a leg but Kobra is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Wallace persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Wallace working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Kobra utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Wallace distracts Kobra with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Wallace postures up in Kobra's guard and throws a big left but Kobra blocks it.
Wallace throws an elbow that misses. Kobra uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wallace's guard. Nice move by Kobra!


Wallace working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kobra doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Wallace is tightening it up a little... Kobra has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Kobra reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Kobra taps out! Nice BJJ there by Wallace!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Ryan Wallace!
An out of breath Ryan Wallace thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
