Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Axl Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tristan Fenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rose comes to the cage accompanied by You Could Be Mine. Fenix is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Axl Rose has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fenix works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
A telegraphed right hand from Fenix misses the target.
Rose takes one on the button.
Rose feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Fenix's calf.
Fenix takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Fenix.
Tristan Fenix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rose jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Fenix misses with a body shot.

Fenix thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Rose throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fenix sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Donk. Fenix catches Rose right on the button with a cross.

Fenix has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Fenix lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Rose moves out of range as Fenix strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fenix throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rose half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Fenix throws the left hand but Rose avoids the punch easily.

An inside leg kick lands from Rose.
Rose throws a body shot but no joy.

Fenix fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Fenix has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Fenix lands with a cross.
Tristan Fenix seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Fenix works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Fenix paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Fenix misses with a double jab.
Fenix misses with a looping left.
Rose waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Fenix.
Fenix changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Fenix throws a hook to the side of Rose's head but Rose sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rose lands a jab to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fenix lands with an uppercut that bounces Rose off the cage and back into range.
Fenix throws out a loose jab but Rose uses good head movement to avoid it.
Rose connects with a solid leg kick.
Axl Rose has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Fenix scores with a sloppy right hand. Rose should have avoided that one.
A looping hook to the body misses from Fenix. Rose does a little dance to reset his feet.
Fenix rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rose moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rose throws a head kick that misses.
Rose fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Fenix.
Fenix misses with a straight right.
Rose throws a chopping leg kick but Fenix manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Fenix closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fenix lands in his opponent's guard.
Fenix cracks Rose with a solid left hand.
Fenix postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Fenix forces his way into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Rose on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Fenix thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rose's head.
Fenix is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Fenix winds up and cracks Rose with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Fenix is nestled in close to Rose, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fenix drops an elbow to the side of Rose's head.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Fenix lands a nice short elbow.
Fenix looks to land a strike but Rose avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Fenix scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tristan Fenix comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fenix has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Tristan Fenix decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
