Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Felix Sturm!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Karter Kinshaw!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Kinshaw misses.
Kinshaw is looking to clinch but Sturm is avoiding it.
Sturm moves out of range of the body kick from Kinshaw.
Kinshaw throws a leg kick but Sturm sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Kinshaw misses with an uppercut. Sturm saw that one coming.
Kinshaw loads up on a big right hand but Sturm slips the punch.
Sturm swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
The fighters circling - Kinshaw throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Sturm throws a body shot but no joy.
Kinshaw moves out of range of the body kick.
Sturm throws a big shot that misses.
Kinshaw takes one to the chin there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sturm checks a low kick from Kinshaw.
Kinshaw lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Nice body punch from Kinshaw.
Sturm wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Sturm seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sturm wants to land a leg kick but Kinshaw is out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kinshaw loads up on a big right hand but Sturm slips the punch.
The crowd cheers as Sturm lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kinshaw doesn't seem phased though.
Sturm jabs at Kinshaw's body.
Sturm throws a body punch but Kinshaw moves out of range.

Kinshaw clinches with his opponent.
Kinshaw has a couple of punches blocked by Sturm.
Sturm tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Kinshaw landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Kinshaw misses with a hook to the ribs.
Kinshaw misses with some punches.
Sturm lands with a short shot to the head.
Sturm prevents a body shot from Kinshaw.
Kinshaw tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
We've been informed that Kinshaw has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Sturm tries a body shot but Kinshaw blocks it.
Kinshaw has a couple of punches blocked by Sturm.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kinshaw creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A nice right hand lands inside from Kinshaw.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Sturm.
Sturm prevents a body shot from Kinshaw.
Sturm struggles to land a body shot inside as Kinshaw controls his hands.
Sturm tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kinshaw's elbow.
Kinshaw lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Sturm breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sturm takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Sturm slips a jab and a cross from Kinshaw.
A quick step to the side and Sturm tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kinshaw is looking to slow Sturm down with leg kicks.
Kinshaw uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sturm.
A big right from Kinshaw misses.
Kinshaw thumps Sturm with a low kick.
Kinshaw throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A big left from Sturm misses.
Kinshaw lands with a thumping leg kick.

Sturm cracks Kinshaw with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Sturm has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Kinshaw to stand back up!


Kinshaw is rocked!
Kinshaw throws a leg kick but Sturm sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Kinshaw is still on wobbly legs! Can Sturm finish him?
A low kick from Kinshaw misses
and Sturm counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Felix Sturm!
Felix Sturm retains his lightweight title!
