Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tonaldinho Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lechu Szulcu!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Szulcu rushes Silva and presses him up against the cage.
Silva misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Silva throws a punch but it's blocked by Szulcu.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Silva blocking some punches.
Szulcu tries for a takedown but Silva manages to get underhooks.
Szulcu blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Knees in the clinch landing for Silva.
Silva misses with a hook to the ribs.
Szulcu is trying to drag Silva to the mat but Silva just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Szulcu is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Silva to keep the fight standing.
Tonaldinho Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lechu Szulcu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Szulcu tries to break the clinch but Silva is controlling the position.
Silva connects with a knee to the head.
Szulcu breaks the clinch.
Silva thows a body kick. Szulcu tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Szulcu looks winded!
Szulcu keeps the fight on the outside.
And Szulcu tries to counter it with a takedown but Silva pushes his down on his head and steps out.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva lands a big head kick that sends Szulcu tumbling to the mat! Silva takes a step backwards and waves Szulcu back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Szulcu is rocked!
It looks like Lechu Szulcu has been cut.
Silva wants to clinch.
Szulcu drops his hands momentarily and Silva needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Szulcu just on the top of the head. Szulcu drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Szulcu - he's done!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Tonaldinho Silva!
