PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zorba The Dancing Buddha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Damozzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Dancing Buddha comes to the cage accompanied by Zorba Time. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zorba The Dancing Buddha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 20 - 5, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Damozzi!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Damozzi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
The Dancing Buddha shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Damozzi sprawls well. Damozzi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. The Dancing Buddha gets slowly back to his feet.
Damozzi is looking for the big counter here.

Damozzi moves into the clinch.

Damozzi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Damozzi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The Dancing Buddha manages to work his way to half guard, despite Damozzi's best efforts.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The Dancing Buddha shoots in looking for a takedown but Damozzi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing The Dancing Buddha's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Damozzi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. The Dancing Buddha tries to avoid it but Damozzi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag The Dancing Buddha to the ground. The Dancing Buddha escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The Dancing Buddha fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zorba The Dancing Buddha. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The Dancing Buddha gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Frank Damozzi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Both fighters circling a little - The Dancing Buddha finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Damozzi wants to clinch up but The Dancing Buddha keeps it at a distance.

That was a close round but I would say that Zorba The Dancing Buddha will probably get the nod.

Damozzi doesn't manage to clinch there - The Dancing Buddha circles away.
Damozzi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but The Dancing Buddha paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Damozzi slaps away a takedown attempt from The Dancing Buddha, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Damozzi shoots for a takedown but The Dancing Buddha saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The Dancing Buddha is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Damozzi to keep the fight standing.

Damozzi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around The Dancing Buddha's waist but The Dancing Buddha gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Damozzi off to one side.
The Dancing Buddha keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
The Dancing Buddha moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
The Dancing Buddha shoots in looking for a takedown. Damozzi tries to sprawl out of it but The Dancing Buddha keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Damozzi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Damozzi is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Damozzi is trying hard to land a takedown here. The Dancing Buddha sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Zorba The Dancing Buddha showed his dominance in that final round.
Well The Dancing Buddha has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
