PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mercrucio Vasques (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thor Magnunsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Magnunsen has chosen Dangerous as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasques shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Magnunsen pinned against the cage. Magnunsen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Magnunsen appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Magnunsen throws a shot to the body.
Vasques has been working on his balance at King Of Pain, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Magnunsen.
Vasques swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Magnunsen counters with a straight right hand.
Vasques throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Magnunsen.

It looks like Mercrucio Vasques has been cut.
Vasques shoots in looking for a takedown. Magnunsen tries to sprawl out of it but Vasques keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Magnunsen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mercrucio Vasques. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Vasques takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Vasques fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Magnunsen avoids it really well and circles away.

Vasques shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Magnunsen counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Vasques is breathing heavily.
Magnunsen connects with a body shot that sends Vasques's belly button to the back.
Magnunsen lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Magnunsen is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Vasques had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Magnunsen digs a good hook to Vasques's body.
Vasques shoots and misses
and Magnunsen makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vasques takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Magnunsen scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Vasques doesn't seem bothered though.
Magnunsen looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Magnunsen sends Vasques crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Magnunsen is motioning to the referee to let Vasques up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Vasques is rocked!
Vasques gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Magnunsen points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Vasques wakes up just in time to hear Magnunsen thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
