The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Der Saar gets a double leg takedown into Barr's guard.
Barr is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Van Der Saar presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Barr is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Van Der Saar is defending well.

Van Der Saar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Barr will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Johann Van Der Saar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Barr regains half guard, as Van Der Saar was trying to land strikes.
Barr is looking to control Van Der Saar's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Barr avoid being mounted?

Van Der Saar throws an elbow that misses. Barr uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Van Der Saar's guard. Nice move by Barr!

Barr slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Van Der Saar wants to stand and escape but Barr is having none of it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Barr throws a big elbow that misses.
Barr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Van Der Saar works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Van Der Saar avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Barr is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Barr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Van Der Saar is trying to stand and escape. In the scramble, Barr has locked hold of an arm and he's managed to lock on an armbar - Van Der Saar taps out instantly and this one is all over!
