The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez misses with a series of wild punches.
Gomez tries a head kick but it misses.
Gomez takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A combination from Gomez does no damage.
Despite the aggression on Williams's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Williams dives in for a single leg takedown but Gomez sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Gomez appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Williams tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gomez defends well and Williams ends up having to push Gomez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gomez stuffs the takedown attempt from Williams. Williams gets slowly back to his feet.

Williams thuds a left hand into Gomez's body.

Williams darts in looking for a takedown but Gomez gets double underhooks and turns Williams into the cage.
Gomez throws a right and a left that both miss.
A little jabbing left from Williams on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Gomez throws a nice looking combination but Williams bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Gomez moves into the clinch.

Gomez jumps guard and drags Williams to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Gomez is pulling down on Williams's head. It's preventing any offense from Williams, at least for the moment.

Gomez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Gomez won't allow Williams to pass to mount.

Williams is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Williams is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gomez sees it coming and defends easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gomez regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Williams.
Gomez wants to get back to his feet but Williams is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Williams pushes down on Gomez's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Williams passes to full mount!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Williams throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Milan Gomez will probably get the nod.
That's time! Gomez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Horrible takedown attempt by Williams or perhaps it was just good defense by Gomez, which made it look bad.
Gomez throws a lazy right hand but Williams sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Williams doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Gomez counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Williams has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Gomez after a bit of a struggle.

Gomez has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Williams regains guard immediately.
Williams wants to sweep here but Gomez controlling him for the moment.

Gomez is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Williams has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Gomez is looking to defend but Williams has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Gomez! Williams pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Gomez taps out and this one is all over!
