Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackie Steve!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hamish McTavish!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Reed Andrews and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steve throws a jab when McTavish was well out of range.
Jackie Steve seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McTavish drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Steve tries to buck McTavish off but McTavish is having none of it.
Steve is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on McTavish's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Steve has hold of McTavish's hands but McTavish slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Steve on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Steve tries to get out of the position.
Ground and pound from McTavish.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Steve works his way to full guard. Good work.

Steve looking for submissions from the bottom but instead McTavish passes into half guard.
McTavish lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Steve looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McTavish wants to take a breather but Steve is having none of it.

Steve is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McTavish pulls his head out easily.
McTavish lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Steve is trying to get back to full guard.
McTavish looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Steve with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
McTavish wants to take a breather but Steve is having none of it.
Steve moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
McTavish seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
McTavish distracts Steve with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
McTavish scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
McTavish makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Steve working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McTavish doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McTavish manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

McTavish makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
McTavish postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
McTavish scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Steve is looking for a triangle here but McTavish uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
McTavish wants to lay and pray for a moment but Steve keeps working.
Steve takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Steve tries to improve position but can't.

McTavish grinds an elbow into Steve's temple.
McTavish cracks Steve with a big right hand but Steve just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Steve takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. McTavish lands a nice short elbow.
McTavish trying to mount his opponent but Steve defends it.

Steve is not content to let McTavish control the position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. McTavish connects with a nice short shot to Steve's temple.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hamish McTavish dominated that round.

Steve keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.


It looks like Hamish McTavish has been cut.
McTavish avoids the body shot from Steve.
McTavish changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Steve lands a right hook to the body.
Some wild striking there from Steve.
Steve jabs McTavish right on the nose. McTavish blinks but takes it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Steve fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked McTavish out cold! Brutal finish!

Jackie Steve was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
