Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luke Moreno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Owen Kyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Owen Kyle has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Luke Moreno's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Luke Moreno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Owen Kyle!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Illya Tyunina and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A lazy body kick from Kyle

and Moreno counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Moreno postures up.
Moreno keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kyle's head.

Kyle is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Moreno is aware though and is defending well.
Kyle wants to stand but Moreno is controlling the position.
Moreno scoring with some ground and pound.
Moreno has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Moreno lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Moreno is working Kyle over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Moreno gets to his feet - Kyle follows without any prompting.

Moreno has managed to clinch.
Kyle tries to break free but Moreno pushes him back against the cage.
Kyle blocks an uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kyle gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Moreno manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Kyle keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Kyle wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Moreno has him pressed against the cage.
Kyle blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Moreno tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kyle smiles and moves away.
A clash of legs there as Kyle blocks the low kick.

Kyle darts in and clinches Moreno up against the cage.

Kyle ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kyle no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Moreno content to stall in guard here.
Moreno has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Moreno is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Moreno could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Kyle isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Moreno stacks Kyle on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Moreno!
Moreno lands a nice forearm strike.

Moreno lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Moreno lands a nice forearm strike.
Moreno lands an elbow.
Moreno is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kyle will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kyle seems a little lost for a moment, as Moreno dominates the positioning.

Moreno is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kyle will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Moreno lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kyle down.
Kyle takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Moreno decides to stand back up.
Kyle misses with a double jab

and Moreno counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Kyle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Moreno. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Moreno escapes and gets back to his feet.

Kyle closes the distance and pushes Moreno back into the cage.

Moreno decides to pull guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Moreno is on top in guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luke Moreno dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Kyle throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Moreno was covering up waiting for the punch and Kyle finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Moreno is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Kyle turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kyle manages to end up in side control.

Moreno sneaks out the side door and pushes Kyle away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Moreno has taken the fight to the clinch.
Moreno is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Moreno goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kyle prevents it.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kyle looking to slow down the pace here.
Kyle keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Moreno's efforts to push away.
Moreno misses with some punches.
Moreno misses with a short punch on the inside.

Moreno pulls guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Moreno is on top in guard.

Moreno lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Kyle wants to control the position but Moreno says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kyle is looking for a sweep. Moreno is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Moreno lands with a punch from half guard.
Moreno keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Moreno in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Kyle tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Moreno!
