Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Neil Vanderbilt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Quid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Neil Vanderbilt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Quid!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanderbilt pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Quid tries to clinch up but Vanderbilt circles away and keeps his distance.
Johnny Quid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Quid looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Quid is looking to clinch but Vanderbilt is avoiding it.
Quid tries to clinch there but Vanderbilt circles away.

Quid moves into range and clinches up with Vanderbilt.
Quid's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Quid lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vanderbilt misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Quid.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Quid creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Quid breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Vanderbilt takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
It looks like Neil Vanderbilt has been cut.
Vanderbilt tries to close the distance and clinch up but Quid swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Quid wants to clinch but Vanderbilt slips to the side
and Vanderbilt counters by moving into the clinch.
Quid scores with a shoulder strike.

Quid breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Quid connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Vanderbilt is breathing heavily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Vanderbilt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Vanderbilt throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Quid counters by clinching up.
Quid gets through Vanderbilt's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Quid manages to break the clinch.

and Vanderbilt counters with a stiff right hand.
Quid drops Vanderbilt with a right and a left! Quid comes rushing in but Vanderbilt regains his composure and manages to keep Quid in guard.
Quid stands up and waves to Vanderbilt to follow him.
Quid tries to clinch up but Vanderbilt circles away and keeps his distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Horrible takedown by Vanderbilt or perhaps it was just good defense by Quid which made him look bad.
Quid drives through and clinches with Vanderbilt against the cage.
Quid breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Quid fails with an attempt to clinch.
Quid fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vanderbilt, pushing him back against the cage.
Quid's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Quid throws a left and a right that both miss
and Vanderbilt counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Quid is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Quid lands with a big right hook that stumbles Vanderbilt - he's out on his feet here! Quid follows up with another monster hook that separates Vanderbilt from consciousness! Vanderbilt falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Quid stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Johnny Quid!
