The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muller scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Hughes blocks the body kick.

Muller jabs Hughes to the body, keeping him at a distance.

and Muller counters with a stiff right hand.
Hughes gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Hughes swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Muller has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Hughes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Muller is fending him off so far but Hughes persists. Nope, Muller circles away and we're back to standing.

Michael Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hughes shoots for a double leg takedown but Muller sprawls well. He's pushed Hughes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Muller might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Hughes motions for Muller to come forward. Hughes throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Muller is in close to Hughes's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Muller clobbers Hughes with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Muller has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hughes looks to land a right hand but Muller moved out of range.
Hughes takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Muller swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
A jab from Hughes does it's job there.
Hughes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hughes throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Muller stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and Muller cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Hughes throws a hook to the side of Muller's head but Muller sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hughes shoots in looking for a takedown. Muller tries to sprawl out of it but Hughes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Muller manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

BOOM! Muller lands a beautiful left hook that drops Hughes. Hughes tries to recover but Muller is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Hughes lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

A relieved looking Bode Muller thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
