PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doyle Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bjorn Ragnarson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawk kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is American Encore. Doyle Hawk could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bjorn Ragnarson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bjorn Ragnarson!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawk shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ragnarson as he jumps to the side.
Ragnarson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Hawk is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Hawk looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Hawk closes the distance and clinches up with Ragnarson, looking for a takedown. Hawk pushes Ragnarson against the cage but Ragnarson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That was a close round but I would say that Doyle Hawk will probably get the nod.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ragnarson enables Hawk to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ragnarson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Hawk swings around for an armbar but Ragnarson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Hawk's guard.

That's time! Hawk's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Ragnarson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ragnarson throws a chopping leg kick but Hawk manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Hawk is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ragnarson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Hawk got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ragnarson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hawk has managed to get both his arms back between Ragnarson's legs - danger averted.

Hawk has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Ragnarson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Hawk has tightened it up now! Ragnarson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
