PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Borg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elijah Pitakaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pitakaka has chosen my dick as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elijah Pitakaka!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pitakaka misses with a head kick.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Borg has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Hard Knocks Training in the buildup to the fight.

Borg wants to control from the top but Pitakaka keeps moving.

Pitakaka is looking to stand up but Borg isn't so interested in that idea.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Pitakaka can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Borg controls the pace.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Borg wants to clinch up but Pitakaka keeps it at a distance.
Pitakaka is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Borg bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Pitakaka felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Borg tries to score with some ground and pound. Pitakaka controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Pitakaka is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Borg asserts his dominance and retains side control.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Borg accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pitakaka is on top in guard.

Borg wants to control but Pitakaka passes easily into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Borg wants to control but Pitakaka is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Pitakaka wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Frank Borg is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Borg closes the distance and pushes Pitakaka back into the cage.

Borg has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Pitakaka clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Pitakaka wants to get back to his feet.
Borg thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Borg tries to get the hooks in deep but Pitakaka pushed the leg off.

Pitakaka is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Borg off. It looks like it's working - Borg slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Pitakaka displaying calm under pressure there.

Pitakaka's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Elijah Pitakaka showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Pitakaka walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Borg checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Borg appears to be looking for a big counter.
Borg tries to clinch up but Pitakaka circles away and keeps his distance.

Borg forces Pitakaka back against the cage and clinches.
Borg wants a takedown but no success here.

That kick from Pitakaka tenderised Borg's leg. Borg is trying to keep his angry face on.

Borg closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Borg lands in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Pitakaka manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Pitakaka escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pitakaka misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Borg looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pitakaka throws a head kick that misses.
Borg tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pitakaka swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Borg drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Borg loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Borg has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Borg is working Pitakaka over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Borg seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pitakaka for as long as he can get away with.

Borg is trying to drag Pitakaka to the mat but Pitakaka just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

A solid leg kick lands there for Pitakaka.

A slapping leg kick lands for Pitakaka.
Borg avoids a kick to the body.
Elijah Pitakaka is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Borg misses with an uppercut. Pitakaka saw that one coming.
Pitakaka throws a fast counter high kick but Borg manages to duck under it in time.
Borg takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Pitakaka lands with a kick to the ribs.

Borg feinted with a counter takedown.
Pitakaka throws a shot from downtown. Borg moves away and avoids it.

Pitakaka tries to sprawl but Borg drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Borg is looking to take a break and control but Pitakaka is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Elijah Pitakaka comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Pitakaka has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
