Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hai Hicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jeff Green will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hai Hicks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jeff Green!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Igor Prikhodko and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hicks enables Green to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hicks manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Green stays in close to Hicks's body and controls the position.
Green passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Hicks looks to move to half guard but instead Green has passed into mount! Damn!

Hicks tries to lock up and control but Green gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Green jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hicks manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Green decides to stand back up. Green steps back and let's Hicks get back to his feet.

Green forces Hicks back against the cage and clinches.

Green escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Green gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hicks looking for a takedown.

Green has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hicks uses from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Green holds on and takes a little breather.
Green wants to sweep but no luck.
Green is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Green manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hicks manages to get himself to full guard.

Green stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hicks swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hicks can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Green controls the pace.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hicks has Green pulled in close to control his posture.
Green tries to free his leg and advance position but Hicks is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Green closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Green lands in his opponent's guard.

Green avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Hicks is working an open guard so Green takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Green's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Green turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Green manages to end up in side control.

Hicks tries to buck Green off but Green is having none of it.

Green looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hicks!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Green is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hicks can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Hicks gets tackled into the cage by Green. Green maintains the clinch.

Hicks is looking for a sweep. Green is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Green has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Hicks regains guard immediately.
Green is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Green is pushing down on Hicks's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hicks is fighting to maintain full guard but Green has managed to sneak the leg through.
Hicks is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hicks wants to control but Green is keeping busy.
Green moves nicely into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
You can see the frustration on Hicks's face as Green controls the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Green decides to stand back up. Green steps back and let's Hicks get back to his feet.
Hai Hicks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Green rushes Hicks and presses him up against the cage.

Green manages to break the clinch.

Green moves into the clinch successfully.
Hicks tries to pull guard but Green won't allow it.

Green ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Green no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Jeff Green comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Green has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
