Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duncan Gay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arnel Bavarac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bavarac gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gay to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Bavarac has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Gay is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Bavarac tightens his grip and picks Gay up, before dumping him to the ground. Gay manages to land in guard.

Bavarac must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gay is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bavarac is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Gay gets to his feet. Bavarac looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Gay feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Gay has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bavarac looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bavarac wants to sweep here but Gay controlling him for the moment.

Gay lands a couple of digs.
Gay postures up in Bavarac's guard and throws a big left but Bavarac blocks it.
Gay keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bavarac's head.
Bavarac really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gay. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gay stands up and waves to Bavarac to follow him.

Bavarac shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gay wants to sweep but no luck.
Gay is pulling down on Bavarac's head. It's preventing any offense from Bavarac, at least for the moment.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gay has his hands on Bavarac's head, controlling the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Gay looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Gay tries to sprawl but Bavarac drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Bavarac is keen to just control but Gay is a slippery customer.
Gay is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bavarac's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bavarac's back!

Gay has the hooks in. Bavarac is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. Gay passes his arm under Bavarac's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Bavarac taps!
