PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adan Mcknight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Oppenheimer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcus Oppenheimer will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Adan Mcknight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcus Oppenheimer!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mcknight gets tackled into the cage by Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer maintains the clinch.
Oppenheimer looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Oppenheimer throws a knee to the head but misses.
Mcknight stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Mcknight pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Oppenheimer throws a right and a left that Mcknight avoids nicely.
Oppenheimer swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Mcknight counters by clinching up.

Mcknight escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Mcknight scores with a takedown into Oppenheimer's guard.

Mcknight is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Mcknight distracts Oppenheimer with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Oppenheimer is looking to stand back up but Mcknight counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Oppenheimer.

Mcknight stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Oppenheimer closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Oppenheimer gets underhooks to prevent Mcknight's takedown attempt.
Mcknight takes an elbow to the temple.
Mcknight tries to break the clinch but Oppenheimer is controlling the position.
Mcknight is trying to pull guard but Oppenheimer has him pressed against the cage.
Oppenheimer is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Mcknight is defending well for now.
Mcknight can't break the clinch.

Mcknight is trying to push Oppenheimer away but Oppenheimer has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Mcknight manages to break the clinch.
Mcknight changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Oppenheimer tries to avoid it but Mcknight manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Oppenheimer to the ground. Oppenheimer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mcknight drives through with a takedown into Oppenheimer's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Oppenheimer looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Mcknight tightens his grip and picks Oppenheimer up, before dumping him to the ground. Oppenheimer manages to land in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oppenheimer working a defensive guard but Mcknight manages to pass into side control anyway.

Mcknight stands up and beckons Oppenheimer to his feet.
Mcknight fails with a takedown attempt.

Mcknight goes for a double leg but Oppenheimer avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Oppenheimer continues to drive forward.

Oppenheimer has taken the fight to the clinch.
Oppenheimer throws a knee to the head but misses.
Oppenheimer is trying to force a seperation but Mcknight has the dominant position.

Mcknight breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mcknight shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Oppenheimer pinned against the cage. Oppenheimer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Oppenheimer rushes Mcknight and presses him up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Mcknight pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Oppenheimer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mcknight wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Oppenheimer gets caught flat footed, as Mcknight shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Oppenheimer is wriggling around but Mcknight manages to pass to half guard.

Oppenheimer wants to get back to full guard but Mcknight has mounted him!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Oppenheimer tries to hold on but Mcknight postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Adan Mcknight will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Oppenheimer gets underhooks to prevent Mcknight's takedown attempt.

Oppenheimer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Mcknight fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Oppenheimer sprawls well initially but Mcknight persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Oppenheimer tries to kick Mcknight off in order to stand up. Mcknight Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Mcknight stands up and we're back to a striking position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mcknight manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Mcknight is pulling down on Oppenheimer's head to control his posture.
Oppenheimer with a flurry of punches that miss.
Oppenheimer trying to move into half guard but instead Mcknight has managed to sweep!

Oppenheimer wants to control but Mcknight is keeping busy.
Mcknight working over Oppenheimer with some ground and pound. Oppenheimer looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Mcknight is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Oppenheimer doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mcknight.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mcknight in particular looking to stall.
Mcknight wants to take a breather but Oppenheimer is having none of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mcknight working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Oppenheimer throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Oppenheimer has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Mcknight clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
