Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the body from Banchamek misses
and Gay holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Gay just leaning against Banchamek, taking a breather.
Gay works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Gay tries to free his leg and advance position but Banchamek is retaining full guard.

Gay drops back looking for a leg! Banchamek is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Banchamek manages to kick Gay off! Gay jumps back into Banchamek's guard.

Gay shoots for a double leg takedown but Banchamek sprawls well. He's pushed Gay's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Sombat Banchamek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gay feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Gay shoots in looking for a takedown but Banchamek manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gay's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

That was a close round but I would say that Rudy Gay will probably get the nod.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gay lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Gay is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Banchamek defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Gay is trying to stick to Banchamek's back but Banchamek is turning into Gay. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Gay's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Banchamek.
