Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Krocidal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cletus McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McDonald is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Merle Haggard - Okie From Muskogee. Jimmy Krocidal has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald tries for a takedown but Krocidal sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Krocidal has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA Sydney in the buildup to the fight.
McDonald forces Krocidal back against the cage and clinches.
Krocidal has clasped his hands together around McDonald 's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

McDonald manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
McDonald felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McDonald moves into full guard.
McDonald is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Krocidal is fighting to break McDonald 's control of his arms but McDonald is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Krocidal loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
McDonald pulls Krocidal in to control the position.
McDonald lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
McDonald trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Krocidal is breathing heavily.
McDonald is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
McDonald pushes down on Krocidal 's leg and manages to get into half guard.

It looks like McDonald might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
McDonald comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
McDonald keeps the fight on the outside.
McDonald closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
McDonald is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Krocidal has escaped the position, nice work there.
McDonald has knee on belly and moves into mount.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McDonald is continuing to stall.

McDonald lands a big elbow.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
McDonald closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Krocidal quickly recovers to half guard.
Krocidal is looking to get back to is feet but McDonald passes into side control.
McDonald tries to score with some ground and pound. Krocidal controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

McDonald tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
McDonald takes Krocidal 's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Krocidal is in trouble.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Cletus McDonald showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

McDonald passes Krocidal 's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Still in half guard, McDonald seems content to control.

McDonald is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Krocidal doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McDonald .

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McDonald moves nicely into side control.
McDonald has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Krocidal !

Well McDonald has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
