Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shinichi Fuujin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Duex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fuujin's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Soilwork - Rejection Role. Shinichi Fuujin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuujin keeps the fight on the outside.
Decent striking displayed by Fuujin there.
Duex wants to clinch.

Fuujin drives through with a takedown into guard.
Duex is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Fuujin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Fuujin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Duex dives on top into guard.

Fuujin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Fuujin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Duex really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fuujin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fuujin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fuujin is working for a submission of some sort.

Fuujin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Duex doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Fuujin.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Fuujin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Fuujin tries to pass the half guard into mount. Duex knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Fuujin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Duex moves in looking to clinch but Fuujin pushes him off.
Duex tries to close the distance and clinch but Fuujin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Duex slips a jab and a cross from Fuujin.

Shinichi Fuujin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fuujin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Fuujin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Duex not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Fuujin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Duex's head.

Fuujin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Duex is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Fuujin, into his guard.

Fuujin has his foot on Duex's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Duex works his way back into a safe position though.

Fuujin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Duex doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Duex manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shinichi Fuujin dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Duex is looking to clinch.
Fuujin lands with a nice combination. Duex backs away looking to recover.
Fuujin fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Duex on the side of the head.
Fuujin circles away from the clinch attempt.
Duex wants to clinch.
Duex wants to clinch up but Fuujin keeps it at a distance.
Fuujin misses with a two punch combination.
Duex tries to clinch but Fuujin is having none of it.
A left and a right from Fuujin both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Frank Duex has been cut.
No joy there for Fuujin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Fuujin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Duex is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Duex is looking to clinch but Fuujin is avoiding it.

Fuujin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Duex to the mat! Duex manages to get full guard.
Fuujin slips nicely into half guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Duex is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Fuujin scores with a couple of nice shots.
Fuujin passes to side control.

Fuujin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Duex is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Fuujin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Duex keeps working.

Fuujin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Duex sees it coming and defends easily.

Fuujin in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Duex tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Fuujin!
