The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Ben Hemmingworth and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Butorin circles away from the clinch attempt
and Butorin counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Butorin lands with a nice combination. Sheerwood backs away looking to recover.
Sheerwood misses with a takedown attempt
and Butorin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Sheerwood throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Butorin.
Butorin lands with a slapping head kick.

Sheerwood closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Butorin jumps guard and drags Sheerwood to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Butorin can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sheerwood controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sheerwood passes Butorin's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Sheerwood is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Butorin wants to improve his position but Sheerwood is controlling well.

Sheerwood is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Butorin sees it coming and defends easily.
Sheerwood looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sheerwood prevents Butorin from improving his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sheerwood wants to stand up but Butorin has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Sheerwood seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Butorin can do anything to dispel that myth.
Butorin wants to sweep but Sheerwood has passed to side control!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sheerwood has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Sheerwood is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Butorin has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Sheerwood is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Butorin is in real trouble.

Sheerwood is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Butorin with him. Butorin is trying to defend but Sheerwood has an arm under the chin now! Butorin grimaces and is forced to tap out!

A relieved looking Cole Sheerwood thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
