Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Emmitt Briggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jeff Green!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Green rushes Briggs and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Briggs tries to pull guard but Green forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Green manages to pull guard.
Briggs throws an elbow that misses. Green uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Briggs's guard. Nice move by Green!

Briggs throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Briggs is pulling down on Green's head to control his posture.
Green postures up in Briggs's guard and throws a big left but Briggs blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Green wants to stand but Briggs is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Briggs throws a jab when Green was well out of range.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Green darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Green is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Briggs sees it coming and defends easily.
Briggs has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Green is working away from the top position though.

Green is working for a submission of some sort.

Green is trying to work for a kimura but Briggs is defending well.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Green closes the distance and pushes Briggs back into the cage.

Green is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Briggs can't fight it off and eventually Green manages to take the fight to the floor. Briggs looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Green is looking to work some ground and pound but Briggs has wrist control.

No joy there for Briggs, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Green closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Briggs tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Green shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Green showed some decent athleticism there.

Jeff Green showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

As Briggs backs off Green throws a huge counter combo but Briggs manages to avoid it all.

Green changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Briggs looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Jeff Green is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I've got Green winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
