Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Konstantin Uszatov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gjalund Saltsage!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saltsage fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Uszatov looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Saltsage looks to land a left hand but Uszatov moved out of range nicely.
Saltsage gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Uszatov trying to control the position from guard on top but Saltsage is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Saltsage working for a triangle but Uszatov defends it easily.
Uszatov stands and steps away. Saltsage gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Saltsage lands a glancing blow to the side of Uszatov's head.
It looks like Konstantin Uszatov has been cut.
Saltsage ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Saltsage stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Saltsage wants it to stay on the feet.
Saltsage lands with a good body shot.
Uszatov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Saltsage defends it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Saltsage cracks Uszatov with a good jab.
Saltsage digs a good body shot into Uszatov's ribs.
Saltsage lands a left and a right that send Uszatov crashing to the mat, dazed. Saltsage thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Uszatov is rocked!
Saltsage ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Oh Uszatov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Uszatov walks straight into a right hand from Saltsage - that's dropped him! Saltsage jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Uszatov from any more punishment! Uszatov complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Gjalund Saltsage!
