The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ben Shimon rushes Clements and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Clements jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ben Shimon walks away with a smile on his face. Clements gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Clements shoots in for a double leg but Ben Shimon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Ben Shimon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Clements is trying to defend but Ben Shimon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Clements has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Ben Shimon off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Ben Shimon throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Clements was covering up waiting for the punch and Ben Shimon finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Clements really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ben Shimon wants to get up but he can't break Clements's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Clements got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ben Shimon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Clements has managed to get both his arms back between Ben Shimon's legs - danger averted.
