Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rogelio Burch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rogelio Burch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Brooks!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brooks decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Burch tries to kick Brooks off in order to stand up. Brooks Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Burch knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brooks on the ground.
Brooks advances to full mount.
Brooks tries to control but Burch wriggling away.
Brooks tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
Burch wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Brooks prevents Burch from getting the reversal.

Brooks is working for a guillotine from mount but Burch frees his head quite easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burch is trying to escape the mount.

Burch really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Burch wants to hold on but Brooks pushes him away.
Brooks trying to control but Burch is having none of it.
Brooks connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Burch tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Brooks tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
It looks like Brooks might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Burch is squirming around, avoiding Brooks's attempts to control the action.
Burch is in all sorts of trouble here.
Burch wants to control but Brooks is having none of it.

Brooks seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Brooks wants to lay and pray for a moment but Burch keeps working.

Brooks is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Brooks seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Burch does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burch is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Brooks is trying to control the action in half guard but Burch is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Brooks prevents Burch from improving his position.

Burch shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brooks pinned against the cage. Brooks gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Burch tries to keep at a distance but Brooks has taken the fight into the clinch.
Burch blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burch tries to pull guard but Brooks won't allow it.
Brooks tries to throw a body punch but Burch avoids it by throwing Brooks back against the cage.

Burch is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Brooks has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Burch has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brooks is working away from the top position though.
Brooks wants to control but Burch is keeping him busy.
Burch makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Burch.
Burch not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Burch wants to hit a switch here but Brooks passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Burch there!
Brooks breaks from Burch's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Brooks wants to finish this one by submission but Burch is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Brooks.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Burch manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Burch tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Brooks wants to lay and pray for a moment but Burch keeps working.

Brooks lands with a punch from half guard.
Burch is looking to get back to full guard here but Brooks has managed to pass to side control instead.
Brooks controls the position.
Burch tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Brooks presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Burch is wriggling around trying to escape.

Brooks has hold of Burch's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Burch manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Brooks content just to control the position here.
Brooks is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Brooks lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Brooks trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Burch working to try and regain half guard.
Burch is in a horrible position here. Brooks smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Burch is squirming around, avoiding Brooks's attempts to control the action.
Burch tries to hold on but Brooks postures up.
Burch is in all sorts of trouble here.
BOOM! Brooks connects with a massive shot to the dome!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Phil Brooks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Brooks closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Burch bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Nice takedown defense from Brooks. No joy for Burch on that attempt.
Brooks drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Burch defends it well.

Burch tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

A bit of stalling here from Brooks.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brooks manages to pull guard.

Brooks escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Burch gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Burch postures up.
Brooks takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Burch with a flurry of punches that miss.
Brooks looking to control.
Brooks has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Burch scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Brooks working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Burch doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Burch manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Burch connects with a couple of short punches.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Burch postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Brooks wants to sweep here but Burch controlling him for the moment.
Burch throws a big right hand that misses.

Burch decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Brooks, up you get!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Brooks.
Burch is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Burch is working hard here to advance position.

The strikes coming from Brooks are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Burch tries to improve position but can't.
Burch is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Burch is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Brooks is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Brooks working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Burch bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Burch has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Burch wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Brooks's closed guard. He's half up but Brooks has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Brooks pivots and extends the arm, Burch falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Brooks! Well done that man!
