Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dolph Lingren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juko Jakono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dolph Lingren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Juko Jakono!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jakono.

Lingren drives through and clinches with Jakono against the cage.
Jakono is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Lingren is defending well.

Jakono jumps into guard, dragging Lingren to the mat.

Jakono looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Lingren would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Jakono fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lingren avoids it really well and circles away.

Lingren tries to pull guard but Jakono holds him up against the cage and eventually Lingren drops back down to his feet.

Lingren dives in and grabs Jakono's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jakono pushes down on Lingren's head and hops out.
Jakono will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lingren moves forwards but Jakono connects with a nice, crisp jab.

A nice side step and Jakono releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Horrible takedown attempt by Lingren or perhaps it was just good defense by Jakono, which made it look bad.
Jakono throws a fast counter high kick but Lingren manages to duck under it in time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jakono dives in for a single leg takedown but Lingren sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Lingren closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jakono circles away.
Jakono wants to counter with a clinch but Lingren pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Juko Jakono will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Lingren uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Jakono raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Lingren's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Jakono is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lingren knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jakono looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Jakono has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jakono is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Lingren fails with the takedown

and Jakono moves into the clinch.

Jakono breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jakono has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jakono looks for a takedown but Lingren sprawls well.

Jakono manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Juko Jakono showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Jakono looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lingren is fending him off so far but Jakono persists. Nope, Lingren circles away and we're back to standing.
Jakono moves out of range as Lingren throws a body kick.
Despite the aggression on Jakono's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Nice takedown defense from Lingren. No joy for Jakono on that attempt.

and Jakono counters with a single leg into guard. Lingren didn't expect that.
Jakono postures up in Lingren's guard and throws a big left but Lingren blocks it.

Jakono has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lingren avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Lingren's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Lingren for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Jakono takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Lingren tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jakono smiles and moves away.

Jakono's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Lingren pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jakono shoots in for a takedown but Lingren shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jakono avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Lingren has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jakono can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jakono takes a little break here. Lingren wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Jakono misses with the ground and pound.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Jakono wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lingren, who protects the arm well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lingren shoots in for a double leg but Jakono sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Jakono closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lingren bucks up and tries to throw Jakono off but instead Jakono has got his back!

Jakono is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Lingren defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

And that's the end of the fight!
Juko Jakono comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jakono has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
