PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nigel Frazier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Da Silva has chosen Body Count - Body Count's in The House as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nigel Frazier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joao Da Silva!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Frazier forces Da Silva back against the cage and clinches.
Da Silva has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Frazier is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Frazier drags the fight down to the ground.

Da Silva postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Frazier is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Da Silva, into his guard.


Da Silva is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Frazier postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Frazier thows a huge punch but Da Silva dodges it nicely.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Frazier connects with a nice short shot to Da Silva's temple.

Da Silva is looking to control Frazier's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Da Silva avoid being mounted?

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Frazier clinches up with Da Silva and pushes him back against the cage.

Frazier drives through with a takedown into Da Silva's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Frazier throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Da Silva works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Frazier really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Frazier throws a strike but Da Silva rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Da Silva won't allow Frazier to sweep him here.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Frazier looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Da Silva with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well Frazier has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
