Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iosefa Umaga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcellus Clay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Umaga comes to the cage accompanied by Ky-Mani Marley - Warriors. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcellus Clay!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Chris Dean and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clay gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Umaga.

Umaga has managed to clinch.
Umaga tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Umaga lands a nice uppercut.
Umaga misses with a hook to the ribs.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Clay.
Umaga misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Clay doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Clay wants a takedown.
Clay blocks a body shot from Umaga.
Clay blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Umaga escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Clay ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Clay no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Umaga stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Umaga moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Clay looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Umaga lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Clay takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Umaga doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Clay swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Clay lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Umaga pushes off an throws an elbow but Clay leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Clay ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Clay no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Clay working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Umaga doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Umaga manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Umaga keeps the fight on the outside.
Umaga fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Clay has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Clay closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Umaga punishes Clay's body with a nice straight punch.
Umaga is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Umaga moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

and Clay connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Umaga throws a sloppy head kick and Clay moves out of range easily.
Clay looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Clay takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Clay on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Umaga. Umaga obviously looking to wear him down.

Clay has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Umaga seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Clay can turn it around.

Clay looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Umaga thows a body kick. Clay tries to catch it but that hurt him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Umaga throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Clay counter with a right hand.
Clay tries to close the distance and clinch but Umaga swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Umaga throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Umaga misses with a body punch.
Clay misses with the head strike.
Clay misses with some punches.
Clay takes an elbow to the forehead.
Umaga blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Umaga lands a nice elbow.
Umaga stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Clay takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Clay lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Umaga or not.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Umaga sizes up Clay with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Clay throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Umaga counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Umaga lands a glancing blow to the side of Clay's head.

Clay takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Clay is still on wobbly legs! Can Umaga finish him?
Umaga lands a right hook to the body.
Clay takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Clay seems to have recovered his senses.
Umaga bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Whack! Umaga lands a heavy head kick that drops Clay. The ref tackles Umaga to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Clay was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Iosefa Umaga!

An out of breath Iosefa Umaga thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Marcellus Clay spoke after the fight, saying 'Very confident'.
