Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cristobal Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Stanley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cristobal Salazar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, George Stanley!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stanley fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Salazar to the ground. Stanley is now in Salazar's guard.
Salazar is looking to stand back up but Stanley counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Salazar.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Salazar controlling the position well.
Salazar throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Salazar is looking for a sweep. Stanley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Stanley moves nicely into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Salazar sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Salazar flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Stanley postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Salazar misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are battling for position here. Salazar manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Stanley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Salazar has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Stanley off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Salazar dives in for a single leg takedown but Stanley sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Stanley postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Salazar to stand up.

Stanley misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Stanley is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Salazar manages to work his way to half guard, despite Stanley's best efforts.

Stanley perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Salazar wants to get back to full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Cristobal Salazar will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Salazar throws a series of punches but Stanley moves out of range.
Salazar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Salazar darts in looking for a takedown but Stanley gets double underhooks and turns Salazar into the cage.

Stanley wants to control from the top but Salazar keeps moving.

Salazar has his foot on Stanley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stanley works his way back into a safe position though.

Stanley is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Salazar is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Salazar has escaped and now he's on top!

Salazar is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Salazar's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Salazar is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Stanley looking to hit a scissor sweep but Salazar is one step ahead there.
Salazar is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Stanley looking for a guillotine here but Salazar defends easily.
Salazar is working Stanley over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Salazar loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Stanley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Salazar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Stanley shoots in and bounces Salazar off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Stanley feints and as Salazar raises his hands in defense, Stanley changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Salazar manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Stanley looking to stall.

Stanley turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Stanley laying and praying for a moment but Salazar takes advantage and regains half guard.
Stanley blocks the strikes from Salazar.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Salazar is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stanley's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stanley's back!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Stanley closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Stanley wants to control but Salazar is keeping him busy.
Stanley thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Salazar's head.

Stanley stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Salazar to get to his feet.
Stanley turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Stanley tries to clinch but Salazar is having none of it.

Salazar is trying to get back to full guard.

George Stanley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Salazar has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
