Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cavey Beaumont (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masamichi Yamaji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yamaji has chosen Forgotten Places by Max Ablitzer as his entrance music. Masamichi Yamaji has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cavey Beaumont!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Masamichi Yamaji!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beaumont scores with a jab to the body.
Yamaji shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

It looks like Cavey Beaumont has been cut.

Beaumont shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Yamaji's guard.

Beaumont is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yamaji is just riding it out for now. Beaumont eventually gives up the hold.

Beaumont is looking for a kimura but Yamaji is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Beaumont to get the leverage.

Beaumont is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Yamaji to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Yamaji shrugs it off.

Beaumont throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Beaumont is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Yamaji has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Yamaji!
Yamaji would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Beaumont fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Yamaji manages to avoid it.
Beaumont dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Yamaji. That did some damage!
Cavey Beaumont seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yamaji pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Yamaji throws a right hand that Beaumont ducks under and follows up with a left that Beaumont also avoids with ease.

Beaumont fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Yamaji manages to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beaumont takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Yamaji throws a good cross that connects.
Beaumont moves out of range as Yamaji strikes.
A nice inside leg kick there by Yamaji. That's going to slow Beaumont down.

Yamaji misses with the combination.
Beaumont swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Yamaji throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Yamaji takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Beaumont throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


It looks like Masamichi Yamaji has been cut.
Beaumont is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Yamaji like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Yamaji from another fist facial!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cavey Beaumont!
In his post fight interview, Cavey Beaumont started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
The defeated Masamichi Yamaji had this to say: '*sneers and spits on the mat*'.
