And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Jodi Joe Fjera!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Fjera clinches up against the cage.

McAdams tries for a kimura but Fjera is defending well.
Fjera tries to get back to half guard but can't.

McAdams tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McAdams advances to mount.

McAdams has hold of Fjera's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Fjera manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

McAdams avoids the attempt from Fjera to control.

McAdams looking to secure an arm triangle but Fjera defends it well.
Fjera is working to get back to half guard.
McAdams takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Fjera really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McAdams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fjera tries to hold on but McAdams pushes him away.
Fjera keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

McAdams goes for an armbar but Fjera turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Fjera.

Fjera looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Fjera trying to control the position from guard on top but McAdams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Fjera must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Fjera pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McAdams is keeping the position for now.

McAdams is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Fjera looking to improve position, pressing down on McAdams's thigh with his hand. McAdams seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Fjera paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Fjera's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! McAdams picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
