PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ranga Doom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ranga Doom!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doom closes the distance and clinches up with Black, looking for a takedown. Doom pushes Black against the cage but Black circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Black appears to be looking for a big counter.

Black gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Doom.
Mike Black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ranga Doom.

Black's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A left and a right from Doom both land. Nice combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Doom throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Black.
Black could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Black closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Black lands in his opponent's guard.

Black gets to his feet. Doom looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Black has closed the distance and engaged Doom in a clinch.

Doom wants to break the clinch but can't.

Black breaks the clinch.
A lazy left from Doom finds it's target.
Doom slips a jab and a cross from Black.

Doom throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Black slaps away a takedown attempt from Doom, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Doom looks winded!
Doom misses with a two punch combination.
The fight stays on the outside here - Doom looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Black looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Doom shoots in for a double leg but Black sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Black gets a clinch.
Black lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Black jumps into guard, dragging Doom to the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Black gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Doom counters with a stiff right hand.
Doom shoots in for a takedown but Black shows good takedown defense.
Doom throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Black.
Black throws a big counter combination but Doom scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
We've been informed that Doom has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Mike Black is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Black pulls Doom into guard.
Black keeping moving, preventing Doom from controlling successfully.
Doom is looking to stand up but Black won't let him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Black wants to sweep but no luck.
Doom tries to free his leg and advance position but Black is retaining full guard.

Black pushes Doom off and gets back to his feet.
Doom is breathing heavily.
Black shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Black rushes Doom and presses him up against the cage.

Black escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Doom misses with a head kick.
Doom throws a series of punches but Black moves out of range.
Black shoots for a takedown but Doom saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Doom looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Black shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Doom's guard.
Doom is wriggling around but Black manages to pass to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Black has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Doom defend it? Black steps over the head and cranks it - Doom is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Black!
