Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera misses with a head kick.
Gauthier is looking to counter the offense by Rivera and move into the clinch.
Gauthier wants to clinch up but Rivera keeps it at a distance.
Rivera is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Rivera scores with a head kick. Gauthier tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Rivera misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Rivera will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gauthier changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Gauthier rushes Rivera and presses him up against the cage.

Gauthier lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Rivera is trying to keep Gauthier in close.

Rivera really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gauthier. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gauthier works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Gauthier takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Gauthier throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Rivera wants to get back to full guard.
Gauthier performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Rivera tries to roll over but Gauthier keeps him under control.
Gauthier decides to return to a standing position.
Rivera closes the distance and clinches up with Gauthier, looking for a takedown. Rivera pushes Gauthier against the cage but Gauthier circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Roger Gauthier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brett Rivera.
Rivera tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gauthier darts in looking for a takedown but Rivera gets double underhooks and turns Gauthier into the cage.
Rivera closes the distance and clinches.
Gauthier tries to pull guard but Rivera won't allow it.

Rivera gets control of Gauthier's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rivera will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Well, if Gauthier is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Gauthier seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rivera does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gauthier in particular looking to stall.
Gauthier is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rivera!
Gauthier lands a big shot there that rocks Rivera but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round but I would say that Roger Gauthier will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rivera controlling the position well.
Rivera is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Gauthier has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Rivera is tapping! This fight is all over!
