Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randy Rickford!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Eliza Hachem and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Rickford gets a clinch.

Rickford has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Nash is trying to keep an underhook but Rickford manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Nash on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Rickford controlling the action here.
Rickford is pressing down on Nash's thigh, looking to free his foot. Nash is holding on for now.
Rickford content to control rather than advance.
Rickford has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nash has hold of Rickford's hands but Rickford slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Rickford looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Nash is trying to get back to full guard.

It looks like Rodger Nash has been cut.

Rickford looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Nash is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rickford pulls his head out easily.
Rickford keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rickford is pressing down on Nash's thigh, looking to free his foot. Nash is holding on for now.
Rickford drops an elbow to the side of Nash's head.
Oh Nash is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nash really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rickford lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Nash! More strikes land and this one is all over! Rickford jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
