Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Israel Kamakawiwo Ole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Esch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kamakawiwo Ole comes to the ring accompanied by Somewhere over the Rainbow. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esch tries to bum rush Kamakawiwo Ole with a series of wild strikes but Kamakawiwo Ole uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kamakawiwo Ole thuds a left hand into Esch's body.

Esch forces Kamakawiwo Ole back against the ropes and clinches.
Kamakawiwo Ole throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Eschs head.
Esch can't find room to land a body shot as Kamakawiwo Ole controls the action.
I was talking to Kamakawiwo Ole's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Esch darts in trying to clinch
and Kamakawiwo Ole counters with a left and a right that stings Esch.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Esch avoids the body shot from Kamakawiwo Ole.
