Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ode Jokinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Ramos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tony Ramos will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 20 - 4, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ode Jokinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Ramos !
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jokinen jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jokinen is defended easily by Ramos .
Ramos tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jokinen was well out of range. Poor timing from Ramos .
Ramos fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jokinen manages to avoid it.
Jokinen is looking to slow Ramos down with leg kicks.
Ramos works Jokinen's body with a nice hook.
Ramos takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Ramos bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ramos takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Jokinen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ramos pinned against the cage. Ramos gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jokinen.
Ramos is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Ramos steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jokinen.
Ramos tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ramos has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Jokinen shoots in looking for a takedown but Ramos manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jokinen's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Jokinen is looking for a sweep. Ramos is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ramos uses his free foot to push down on Jokinen's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jokinen.

Ramos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Jokinen is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ramos pulls his head out easily.

Jokinen makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jokinen.

Jokinen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Ramos is pressing down on Jokinen's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tony Ramos will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Jokinen shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ramos napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Jokinen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ramos keeps working.
Ramos manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ramos in particular looking to stall.
Ramos is nestled in close to Jokinen, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Ramos is just content to waste time from the top position. Jokinen takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
