Amoroso's entrance music is Bodies - Drowning Pool. A fine choice. Jade Amoroso has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Linaker fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Thomas Linaker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A punch combination from Linaker misses.

Linaker gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Amoroso to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Linaker uses the cage to get back to his feet.
That kick from Amoroso tenderised Linaker's leg. Linaker is trying to keep his angry face on.
Linaker lands a nice shot that snaps Amoroso's head back.

It looks like Jade Amoroso has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A punch combination from Linaker misses.
Amoroso tries to clinch up.
Linaker tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Amoroso manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Linaker takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Linaker fails to land with a series of punches.
Amoroso shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Linaker counters with a three punch combo that has Amoroso backing up. Amoroso nods at Linaker to acknowledge the strikes.

Linaker moves into the clinch successfully.
Amoroso prevents Linaker from breaking the clinch.

Amoroso lands a head kick. Linaker smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Thomas Linaker has been cut.

Amoroso looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Linaker avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Amoroso is looking to pass into half guard but Linaker pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Linaker is in guard.

Linaker wanted to stand there but Amoroso had control of the position.
Amoroso manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Linaker manages to get himself to full guard.

Amoroso is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Amoroso slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Amoroso's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Amoroso wants to pass the guard but Linaker is keeping the position.

Amoroso thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Amoroso slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Amoroso is trying to get an arm triangle but Linaker is defending well.
The referee asks Amoroso politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Amoroso prefers to stall for the moment though.
Linaker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Amoroso. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Amoroso is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Linaker looks calm but he's in trouble here. Amoroso gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Linaker is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Amoroso lets go of the hold and Linaker can pop his arm back in it's socket.
