Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Titus Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Raimo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Titus Pope!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nick Raimo!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Raimo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Pope tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Pope might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Pope is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Raimo scores with a couple of nice shots.
Raimo wants to get back to his feet.
Raimo not doing much here.
Raimo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pope does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Raimo tries to stand and escape but Pope is controlling the position.
Raimo is thwarting Pope's attempts to control the position.
Raimo working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Raimo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Raimo tries to stand and escape but Pope is controlling the position.
Pope knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Raimo on the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Pope is doing well to control the position and prevent Raimo from advancing to side control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Raimo shoots in and gets a takedown into Pope's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Raimo forces his way into half guard.
Raimo keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Raimo wants to take a breather but Pope is having none of it.

Raimo is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Pope tries to get to full guard but Raimo has control of the leg.
Pope is refusing to be controlled, as Raimo sits in half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Raimo slips nicely into half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Raimo thows a huge punch but Pope dodges it nicely.
Pope tries to roll over but Raimo keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Raimo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Raimo is looking to take a break and control but Pope is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Raimo moves nicely into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Raimo dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Pope fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Raimo, pushing him back against the cage.
Raimo is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Pope really is a fat lump.

Raimo ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Raimo no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Raimo manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pope seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Pope is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Pope is trying to work for a kimura but Raimo is defending well.

Raimo is holding on to half guard well.
Raimo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pope is working away from the top position though.
Pope misses with a head shot. Raimo uses the momentum to regain guard.
Pope prevents Raimo from getting back to his feet.
Nick Raimo has got the better of the ground game so far.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Raimo is adopting a defensive guard.
Pope preventing the sweep.
Raimo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Raimo lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Raimo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Pope is not content to let Raimo control the position.

Pope is looking for a sweep.
Raimo working away.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Raimo tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Raimo looks up at the clock and then as Pope takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Raimo smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Raimo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pope is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Nick Raimo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Pope gets caught flat footed, as Raimo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Raimo chips away with some ground and pound.
Pope striking off his back but it's not causing Raimo any problems.
Pope can't keep his opponent in guard - Raimo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Raimo thows a huge punch but Pope dodges it nicely.
Raimo wants to pass to mount but Pope is defending the position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Raimo lands a nice short elbow.

Pope is not content to let Raimo control the position.

Raimo seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Pope controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Raimo is keen to just control but Pope is a slippery customer.

Raimo is looking for a kimura but Pope is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Raimo to get the leverage.
Raimo trying to control the action but Pope is working from the bottom.
Raimo is pressing down on Pope's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pope is holding on for now.
Pope keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Raimo blocks the strikes from Pope.
Pope wants to improve his position but Raimo is controlling well.

Raimo is working for a kimura but Pope is defending it quite comfortably.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Raimo in particular looking to stall.
Raimo wants to stand up but Pope is controlling the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Raimo enables Pope to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Raimo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Raimo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Pope got a little sloppy there for a moment and Raimo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pope has managed to get both his arms back between Raimo's legs - danger averted.
Raimo is pulling down on Pope's head. It's preventing any offense from Pope, at least for the moment.
Raimo throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Pope won't allow Raimo to sweep him here.
Pope prevents Raimo from getting back to his feet.
Raimo wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Pope manages to pass to side control.
Raimo desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Raimo is pressing down on Pope's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nick Raimo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Raimo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
