Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Malcom Weiss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corto Zladko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corto Zladko has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Malcom Weiss's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Malcom Weiss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Corto Zladko!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zladko connects with the punch.
Weiss looks to land a left hand but Zladko moved out of range nicely.
Zladko swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Zladko lets loose with a powerful body kick. Weiss will feel that in the morning.
Corto Zladko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zladko throws a lazy head kick

and Weiss counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Weiss postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Weiss stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Weiss gets caught flat footed, as Zladko shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Weiss pulls Zladko in close to prevent any damage.
Zladko throwing strikes but missing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Zladko accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Weiss has his foot on Zladko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Zladko works his way back into a safe position though.
Weiss controls Zladko momentarily but Zladko frees himself.
Zladko not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Weiss is controlling Zladko's posture.

Weiss looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Weiss has Zladko pulled in close to control his posture.
Weiss is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Weiss could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Weiss looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Zladko looks like he's trying to stand up.
Weiss tries to stand and escape but Zladko is controlling the position.
Zladko is trying to maintain the position but Weiss is very close to passing his half guard.

Weiss is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Weiss seems to be looking for submissions.
Zladko is pressing down on Weiss's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Zladko has momentary wrist control but Weiss slips an elbow through the middle.
Zladko controls Weiss momentarily but Weiss frees himself.

Weiss gets to his feet - Zladko follows without any prompting.
Zladko goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


It looks like Malcom Weiss has been cut.

Zladko moves into the clinch.
Weiss is struggling to control the position.

Zladko manages to break the clinch.

Zladko closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Weiss's guard.
Zladko looking to sit in guard and control but Weiss gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


That's four minutes gone in the round.
Weiss with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Weiss lands a couple of elbows.

Weiss decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Zladko, up you get!
Zladko misses with the body kick

and Weiss counters by clinching up.
Weiss is stalling here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Weiss pulls Zladko into guard.
Weiss is pulling down on Zladko's head to control his posture.

Weiss is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Malcom Weiss will probably get the nod.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Weiss gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Zladko throws a big elbow that misses.

Weiss is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Zladko slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Zladko avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zladko looking to sit in guard and control but Weiss gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Weiss stands up and waves to Zladko to follow him.

Weiss drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Zladko struggling a bit here.
Zladko is looking for a sweep.
Zladko is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Zladko wants to get back to full guard.

Weiss seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Weiss is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Zladko doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Weiss.
Zladko is looking to escape.
Weiss not doing much here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zladko is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Weiss scores with a couple of nice shots.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, if Weiss is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Weiss seems to be looking for submissions.
Weiss wants to stand but Zladko has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Zladko thows a leg kick but Weiss checks it

and Weiss moves into the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Weiss digs a right hand underneath Zladko's ribcage. Zladko let out a lung full of air as it connected.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Zladko prevents the takedown attempt.
Weiss content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Zladko missing with knees to the body.
Weiss will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Zladko up against the cage.
Weiss dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Zladko wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Zladko jumps into guard, dragging Weiss to the mat.
Malcom Weiss overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Weiss postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zladko throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Weiss was covering up waiting for the punch and Zladko finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Weiss had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Zladko defends it easily.
Zladko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Weiss. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Weiss is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Zladko frees his head nicely. Oh but Weiss has switched to an armbar! Zladko is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Malcom Weiss!
