The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thatcher shoots in looking for a takedown but Darcy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Thatcher's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Thatcher takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
A good leg kick by Darcy.
Darcy swings for the body but Thatcher moves out of range.
Darcy scores with the left hand. Thatcher knows he should have avoided that one.
Thatcher throws a jab when Darcy was well out of range.
Sloppy strikes from Darcy. Those never looked like landing.

Darcy rushes Thatcher and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Darcy tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Darcy lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Darcy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Darcy digs a good hook to Thatcher's body.

Oooooh!!! Darcy has knocked Thatcher down with a huge combo! Darcy steps away and waves a wobbly Thatcher back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Jamal Thatcher has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Darcy feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Thatcher sprawling to the canvas! Thatcher rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Darcy finish him?!

Thatcher is rocked!

Thatcher misses with a left hand

and Darcy moves into the clinch.
Darcy looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Darcy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Darcy lands a left and a right that send Thatcher crashing to the mat, dazed. Darcy thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Thatcher is still on wobbly legs! Can Darcy finish him?
Thatcher circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Darcy. Thatcher falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Darcy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Fredrick Darcy!
Post fight, Fredrick Darcy stared into the camera and said 'For God and Country!'.
