PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Eric Targeryeon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur The Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Chris Dean and Ron Honeybunn.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The Knight rushes Targeryeon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Targeryeon breaks from the clinch.
A lazy left from The Knight finds it's target.
Targeryeon avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Targeryeon swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The Knight looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Targeryeon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
The Knight moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Targeryeon takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Jab, jab by The Knight - just one landing.
Targeryeon darts in looking for a takedown but The Knight gets double underhooks and turns Targeryeon into the cage.
The Knight lands a nice looking body shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Targeryeon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Targeryeon keeps the fight in the clinch, despite The Knight's efforts to push away.
The Knight digs a right hand into Targeryeon's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Targeryeon's gas tank.

Targeryeon works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Targeryeon won't allow The Knight to sweep him here.

Targeryeon decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

The Knight closes the distance and clinches.
The Knight doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
The Knight looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

The Knight's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The Knight feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Targeryeons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Targeryeon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The Knight clinches up with Targeryeon and pushes him back against the cage.
Targeryeon keeps control of The Knight as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
The Knight scores with a shot to the side of Targeryeon's head.

The Knight is trying to break the clinch but Targeryeon is controlling him.
Targeryeon wants to take the fight to the mat but The Knight manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eric Targeryeon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The Knight tries to throw a body punch but Targeryeon avoids it by throwing The Knight back against the cage.
Targeryeon is trying to pull guard but The Knight has him pressed against the cage.
The Knight misses with a punch to the body.
The Knight stops a takedown attempt from Targeryeon.

Targeryeon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The Knight punishes Targeryeon's body with a nice straight punch.

and The Knight counters with a stiff right hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts The Knight, as that shot connected.

The Knight gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The Knight tries to throw a body punch but Targeryeon avoids it by throwing The Knight back against the cage.

Targeryeon tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Targeryeon is breathing heavily.

The Knight's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The Knight lands with a nice combination. Targeryeon backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Eric Targeryeon has been cut.
A combination from The Knight does no damage.
Nice uppercut there from The Knight.
The Knight smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
The Knight tries to bum rush Targeryeon with a series of wild strikes but Targeryeon uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The Knight closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Targeryeon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The Knight dances in with a quick combination. Targeryeon is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from The Knight snaps Targeryeon's head back. Targeryeon stumbles backwards against the cage. The Knight steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Targeryeon's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Targeryeon just didn't come prepared.
