The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halifax tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Nurmagodingdong defends well and Halifax ends up having to push Nurmagodingdong into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Nurmagodingdong was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Halifax shoots in for a double leg but Nurmagodingdong sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nurmagodingdong fails with the takedown.

Halifax tries to keep at a distance but Nurmagodingdong has taken the fight into the clinch.
Halifax jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nurmagodingdong walks away with a smile on his face. Halifax gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Khalabib Nurmagodingdong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Halifax.
Nurmagodingdong walks into a jab.

It looks like Khalabib Nurmagodingdong has been cut.
Halifax gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Nurmagodingdong.
Halifax displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nurmagodingdong throws out the jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice takedown defense from Nurmagodingdong. No joy for Halifax on that attempt.
Nurmagodingdong tries to clinch but Halifax is having none of it.
Halifax shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nurmagodingdong as he jumps to the side.

Halifax closes the distance and clinches up with Nurmagodingdong, looking for a takedown. Halifax pushes Nurmagodingdong against the cage but Nurmagodingdong circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Halifax fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Halifax shoots in for a takedown but Nurmagodingdong shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nurmagodingdong has been working on his balance at Roosters Coop, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Halifax.

Halifax lands a left and a right that sends Nurmagodingdong crashing to the canvas! Halifax dives into mount looking to finish!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Halifax postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Nurmagodingdong badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Halifax around the waist but Halifax pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Halifax is the winner by TKO! Halifax jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
