And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 wins, 2 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ricky Padilla!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Padilla looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Daynier is fending him off so far but Padilla persists. Nope, Daynier circles away and we're back to standing.

and Daynier makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Daynier shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Padilla sprawls well. Padilla wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Daynier gets slowly back to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Padilla looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Daynier went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Horrible takedown attempt by Daynier or perhaps it was just good defense by Padilla, which made it look bad.

Daynier moves into the clinch successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Daynier tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Padilla defends well and Daynier ends up having to push Padilla into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Daynier takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Daynier tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Padilla smiles and moves away.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Daynier crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Padilla - the referee stops the clock and Daynier gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Padilla. Daynier manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Padilla leaves Daynier with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Padilla is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Daynier misses with a takedown attempt - Padilla sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Padilla shoots in looking for a takedown but Daynier manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Padilla's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

It looks like Zachary Daynier has been cut.

Daynier walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Daynier is rocked!

Padilla clinches with his opponent.
Oh Daynier is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Daynier drops down looking for an ankle pick but Padilla pulls his leg out and moves away.
Padilla is stalking Daynier. Daynier circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Padilla, and it's lights out! Daynier really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ricky Padilla!
