Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Esteban Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Armando (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Esteban Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Diego Armando!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armando throws a nice looking combination but Dixon bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
The fight stays on the outside here - Armando looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Armando throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dixon appears to be looking for a big counter.

Dixon shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Armando manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dixon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Armando really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dixon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Dixon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Dixon postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Armando is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dixon, into his guard.

Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Armando throws a strike but Dixon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Armando tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dixon swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Dixon will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Armando up against the cage.

That was a close second round but I would say that Esteban Dixon will probably get the nod.
