The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear clinches up with Vaex and pushes him back against the cage.
Bear tries to pull guard but Vaex forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Bear missing with knees to the body.
Vaex wants to get back to striking at distance but Bear won't allow it.
Bear manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Bear trying to control the position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bear is on top in guard.
Bear postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vaex being controlled here, momentarily.
Bear drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bear jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Bear pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Vaex is keeping the position for now.
Vaex is looking to stand up but Bear isn't so interested in that idea.
Bear gets to his feet. Vaex looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Bear shoots in but Vaex avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Vaex feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Bear lands a two punch combo.
Bear stuffs the takedown attempt from Vaex. Vaex gets slowly back to his feet.
Bear closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vaex throws an elbow but it misses.
Bear tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Vaex smiles and moves away.
Xarel Vaex has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Bear.
Vaex darts in trying to clinch
and Bear counters with a shoot takedown. Vaex fights it but they end up in guard.
Bear scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Bear slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bear passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Vaex!
Bear controlling the position easily from mount.
Bear lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bear breaks from Vaex's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Bear lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Vaex is rocked!
Bear postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Vaex bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Bear and the fight is over!

After winning the bout, Max Bear thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
